The outline proposal for Marsh MX included a full re-wire of the premises with structured cabling (Category 6), this would be the foundation that would support the IT, Telecom and CCTV systems. As part of the move, an upgrade was required to the PC’s, Printers, Telephones and CCTV system. A proposal was submitted covering all of the requirements, from design to commissioning, all through Touch Networks.
Whilst extension work was taking place, it was clear that a better CCTV system would be required, to cover the additional areas and also provide clear colour images both day and night. Touch Networks were recommended by a staff member who had worked with us previously. During the survey stage it was clear that the layout and terrain posed challenges and that to provide a durable, reliable solution a full network infrastructure was going to be required.
To allow more granular control and increase the general security of the school, YGR wanted to employ an automated system which could be managed centrally and offer flexibility for holiday periods, visitors and contractors. Touch Networks had previously installed a fibre network in the school, with network switches deployed throughout. This infrastructure was able to be leveraged to roll out a new Paxton IP access control system installation.
